Chess courses and lessons in the Rome area 19
More about this page
In Rome chess is taught where it is played: most of the courses on this page are run by the circoli themselves. The Accademia Scacchistica Romana offers group courses at basic, intermediate and single-topic level as well as individual lessons; the Scuola Popolare di Scacchi publishes a timetable of numbered youth and adult courses; Quattro Pedoni starts children’s and adults’ courses in the autumn; Roma Scacchi teaches in weekly modules at a cultural centre.
Several clubs work inside schools, and the regional committee names a few of them, in Vitinia, Frascati and elsewhere, as federal chess schools. In Ladispoli the Sunday morning school is for children of primary-school age. Prices are almost never published, and neither is the language of teaching, so both are worth asking about before enrolling. Courses follow the school year: new groups form in late September and October.
