Tournaments for juniors and schools 4

A young player around Rome can fill a season with tournaments. The qualifiers for the Italian youth championship are single-day rapids by age group, from the youngest children to the oldest juniors, held in turn by a circle of organisers: Ostia Scacchi, the Scuola Popolare, Frascati, Easyscacchi, Scacchi in Tour, the Vitinia club and the Botvinnik school. Each spring the provincial championship of Rome and the regional championship of Lazio award their titles, and a regional trophy follows in early summer.

Schools have a circuit of their own: provincial and then regional rounds played by teams that the schools enter, so a child takes part through a teacher, not alone. For a first tournament with no pressure there is the free outdoor open at Largo Don Orione, open to every age and to unrated players. Registration for all of these closes before the day.
